Over recent years, the application of performance-based design (PBD) has continually grown in tall buildings and other structures excited by large wind loads. PBD also become a mainstream approach to assess reduce risks rehabilitation existing structures. The significant wind-related economic losses incurred every year around world have prompted researchers develop methods reframe engineering embrace concepts PBD. main objective (PBWE) is adequacy structure terms decision variables (DVs) set forth stakeholders. Each DV defined satisfy specific performance levels such as operational, immediate occupancy, life safety, collapse prevention. are based on acceptable strength serviceability requirements both structural nonstructural components.
